The solution:

  • Stood up and led an Enterprise Change Management Office, provided HR advisory and PMO leadership, and developed and implemented a strategic communications strategy
  • Brought cross-functional teams of subject matter experts together to identify risks, address issues, and make timely decisions
  • Determined the impact of 100+ changes across 17 functional areas and developed tailored engagement strategies for each impacted stakeholder group
  • Tracked the success of change management efforts across 14 change KPI metrics
  • Defined 43 “Target Operating Model” initiatives to improve operations after the integration was completed

The result:

  • 17 power plants successfully acquired across 8 states, increasing gas-fired generation to two-thirds of the company’s total portfolio
  • $90 million synergy target achieved within the first 30 days of closing as a result of eliminating redundant operations and maintenance, procurement, and corporate platform costs
  • Retained 95% of the desired workforce
  • Zero disruptions to operations
