Congratulations to Ivonne Ibarra, Senior Researcher on Conduent Transportation’s Curbside Management team, who was recently recognized by the National Parking Association (NPA) as a recipient of the 40 Under 40 in Parking – Class of 2020. The award honors industry professionals that represent the future of the parking industry. Ivonne and 39 other recipients will be recognized at NPA’s Annual Conference – PXM Live – Where Parking Meets – taking place virtually September 14-16.
Ivonne’s unique ability to understand and analyze large volumes of heterogeneous data—presenting meaningful results in a clear, captivating, and understandable manner—distinguishes her in the industry. She’s been a critical resource for parking professionals, using data to drive decisions and question assumptions about curbside management. She enjoys “finding the hidden stories in data,” and the parking industry is benefiting greatly from the stories she is discovering and recounting.
Ivonne’s work has helped cities establish better enforcement zones based on curbside miles and the likelihood of infractions impacting safety and congestion. She also helped develop real-time maps with block by block predictions concerning the likelihood of infractions. Parking Enforcement Officers (PEOs) can view maps of applicable regulations within their zones and watch them change throughout the day, providing them with immediate data concerning the meter operations, street cleaning schedules, and parking restrictions.
As a result of outstanding work, one client agency is writing fewer predatory violations and issuing more meaningful citations to deter congestion, boost turnover, and help promote safety.
In her role, Ivonne is also working to help cities improve the scheduling and allocation of vehicles with ALPR for booting and permit enforcement, calculating the appropriate zone sizes and prioritization. She’s applying travel time, street miles, the likelihood of booting a vehicle, and the violation distribution to redesign the City’s operations to optimize operations.
“It’s an amazing recognition for Ivonne to be selected as part of NPA’s 40 Under 40 – and it’s an achievement that’s well deserved,” says Holly Cooper, General Manager of Public Safety & Curbside Management Solutions. “Ivonne is a valuable member of our team. Her dedication to innovation helps to create a positive impact in cities now, more than ever – providing them with access to a large pool of curbside data that becomes a foundation to provide a safer and more mobile community.
