Lateral Data Joins the Conduent Family

July 10, 2012 conduentblogs

Last week, Conduent announced the acquisition of Lateral Data. We at Conduent are excited to welcome Lateral Data, all of its staff and its flagship e-discovery software, Viewpoint, to Conduent – one of the largest e-discovery providers in the world and a $22 billion enterprise for business process services and technology.

The decision for Conduent to acquire Lateral Data was guided by feedback from our corporate and law firm clients and the market. Conduent’s strategy is to offer clients a best-of-breed approach to managing e-discovery that matches the specific needs of clients. This acquisition strengthens the company’s business model, enabling Conduent to now offer e-discovery software in addition to a full service and SaaS approach through Conduent, the e-discovery services business unit.

To meet these objectives, customers are demanding: access to a wider range of e-discovery functionality across the EDRM from a single provider; greater flexibility in how solutions are deployed; more transparent, predictable and flexible pricing; and better risk management not only around traditional processing and hosting of ESI, but also around project management and workflow.

After more than a year of evaluating opportunities, Conduent identified Lateral Data as the most innovative software company in the e-discovery market that delivers on these needs. Viewpoint’s integrated collection, pre-processing and processing, ECA, review and analysis capabilities, workflow capabilities and speed for processing, searching on and analyzing data are simply unmatched by any other e-discovery provider.

With the addition of Viewpoint to Conduent’s e-discovery offerings, we are in a better position than ever to make our vision a reality for the entire market: to offer clients a full spectrum of market-leading services, technology and expertise to help them more efficiently, cost-effectively and defensibly manage their e-discovery projects.

Our clients now have access to left-to-right EDRM capabilities from a single company – whether they opt to outsource all e-discovery processes on a “full service” and cloud-based model, conduct some or all processes on a do-it-yourself basis in-house with Viewpoint, or choose a customized hybrid of insourcing and outsourcing. We can also now deploy e-discovery solutions with more speed and agility to address our U.S.-based clients’ complex international requirements, as well as meet expanded growth outside of the U.S.

Conduent is committed to continuing to invest long-term in all of our e-discovery offerings, including our SaaS-based OmniX™ review platform, CategoriX automated document classification technology, services, e-discovery consulting and now Viewpoint. Over time, we expect that clients will experience new levels of efficiency, flexibility and performance.

We are excited by the opportunities the future holds for Conduent’s e-discovery clients and Conduent as a company.
