Reflections for the Season
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” I love that line from a favorite old song. We all hope that this holiday season will certainly be the most wonderful time of the year 2020! We may appreciate family, friends, cards and e-mails, television and movie specials, and home cooking more this year than we have in previous years. This is a time to express love, peace, and best wishes for the year to come, all of which will be welcomed for 2021.
Conduent’s Child Support Services group is dedicated to serving children and families all year long, but we love the holidays, too. Our hope is that the work we do helps put some goodies in the stockings of the children we serve. Our goal is to help state and local agencies provide valuable services to the families that they serve throughout the year, but especially at this time this year. Child support payments help families work together to provide the basics and some extras for children. Our team understands the purpose, the needs, and the value of our services. We take that to heart. It’s more than a job.
During this past year, our team has focused on providing consistent and timely services no matter the impact of the pandemic. Adjustments were necessary in some projects, but all considerations were made based on the needs and requirements of our state and local customers. We strived to keep all impacts to customers at a minimum. Conduent’s technology team stepped up to help and we adjusted to new ways of working, many of which may shape the future of business.
Our business has grown this year, so we have implemented new processes and sharpened up existing processes. If we select a word to describe this year, it will have to be “implementation” rather than “pandemic!” We have been busier focusing on new work processes and implementations rather than negative events.
All in all, we have maintained a positive outlook in 2020 while working with our customers and our employees to keep all of the wheels turning to support children and families. As our team celebrates the holidays, we can look back on this year as a “job well done,” and look forward to the promises and challenges of the new year to come! Happy holidays!
