Celebrating National Payroll Week

September 8, 2016 Cyndi Kerbler & Dan Rose

Some say love makes the world go ‘round. Some say it’s money. But if you’re either an individual who works for a living or an employer with a workforce, one thing makes the world go ‘round: payroll.

This week, September 5th through 9th, National Payroll Week celebrates those who receive payroll and those who process it – approximately $2.2 trillion per year, according to the American Payroll Association (APA). We’re proud to sponsor the event this week and to offer solutions that make payroll easier and more secure all year long.

Employer and employee should both benefit from a good payroll solution, and payroll cards fit the bill. The inconveniences of checks are well known – mail delays, the chance of loss or fraud, and the prohibitively high costs charged by check-cashing operations – and for your employees who don’t have bank accounts, direct deposit isn’t an option. Payroll cards are convenient for everyone. Everywhere you can use a MasterCard or Visa card, you can use a payroll card.

Employees also have the option to request a “companion” card, a duplicate card for a custodian, guardian, or family member, such as a spouse. Companion cards can be funded in amounts designated by the employee. And with the Xerox payroll card offering, state agencies can trust that their employees are properly served by our trained, expert customer care team.

Payroll professionals are not only responsible for the payroll funds that go directly to employees, but also for the funds that are withheld for other purposes and programs – like child support. With a dizzying array of different regulations and requirements that vary by state, child support remittance is highly complicated. ExpertPay solves this problem by offering a single solution that works in every state, no matter where the employee – or the employee’s child support case – is located.
