Celebrating National Public Health Week

What is public health?  That is the most frequent question public health professionals are asked by the general public.  Public health focuses on the health of the population as a whole rather than the individual, and public health professionals work to prevent disease and poor health at the community level. Every year, we celebrate the science and practice of public health during National Public Health Week.

This year’s celebration takes place from April 2nd to April 8th, and daily themes range from behavioral health, communicable disease to violence prevention and health equity. The Conduent Public Health Solutions team encourages you to participate in events that bring awareness to these areas through one of the national, state, and local events taking place during this celebration week.

Conduent Public Health Solutions has many team members who are participating at the individual level, and we’re also participating as a group in the American Public Health Association’s Billion Step Challenge.  Come join our team and help Conduent celebrate National Public Health Week by contributing your daily step counts to the team total.  It’s easy and free to sign up with Stridekick, and to sync your existing fitness tracker or phone to your Stridekick account.

Conduent Public Health Solutions is passionate about doing our part to create awareness and initiate change. Finding a comprehensive, flexible system that can handle everything from case management to billing to reporting was almost impossible — until now. Our case management platform, Maven, helps state departments deliver and evaluate the effectiveness of mental health programs through case management, decision support and analytic reporting.  Assessing the success of state health programs is key to moving forward in implementing initiatives that drive a healthier, happier society.
