At one time or another, we’ve all heard the advice, “think globally, act locally.” Xerox is a global company with a presence in 180 countries, but we also invest our resources in the communities where we live and work. Maryland is a great example of this. Our Public Sector Services division, headquartered in Germantown, is devoted to designing, building and supporting integrated solutions for U.S. federal, state and local government – and our offices in Maryland support all three groups, going back decades.
For more than 60 years, Xerox has had a significant presence and impact in Maryland. Under contract with state agencies, we provide services ranging from Electronic Benefits Transfer program support to managing Maryland E-ZPass and providing data center management and system hosting. We’ve also made a significant impact on the state workforce, currently employing more than 1,400 people within Maryland. Giving back to the community is also top of mind, and Xerox employees make it a point to get involved in a positive way. Over the holiday season, our employees volunteered at the Maryland Food Bank for its seventh annual “Pack to Give Back” event by boxing up more than 20,000 holiday meals to feed 80,000 Maryland citizens.
Our State Government Services Group President Don Hubicki was recently interviewed by MDBIZ News for a feature titled, “Xerox: You Might Think You Know the Company,” where he talked about many of the ways Xerox has had a significant impact in Maryland.
