Top Topics of 2017 So Far

The first half of 2017 is in the rear-view mirror. It’s a great time to take stock of what insights our bloggers have shared so far this year — and which of these insights have proved most popular with our readers all across the public sector.

One of the most popular (most often clicked and shared) posts so far this year was published just as the year started: IT Industry Outlook 2017: Tech Continues To Shape the World, a guest post by Lana Sansur. Lana is the Senior Marcom Manager, Policy and Public Sector at CompTIA, and there’s always a lot of interest in CompTIA’s insights and analysis.

Also very popular was a post from Daniel Rose of our payment card services team: Companion Cards Take Cardholder Convenience to the Next Level. As he points out, “Payment cards have made it easier for millions of individuals and families to receive funds from government agencies. Instead of waiting for a check, cardholders can get everything from tax refunds to foster care payments on government-issued cards. But what if you’re not the only person in your household who needs access to those funds?” Companion cards are the answer, and this post explains how.

We’ve also gotten lots of attention on a post from Pat Elizondo, Celebrating Strength in Diversity on International Women’s Day. March 8 was a one-day celebration, but the importance of making positive change goes on year-round, as our continuing readership on this post demonstrates. As Pat put it, “Closing the gender gap may seem like an abstract goal, but today’s businesses and government agencies have the power to make real, practical change in helping ensure parity for both men and women.”

Rounding out the most-read and most-shared posts of the year is a post called Finding a Better Approach to Disaster Preparedness. Preparing for and responding to disasters, both natural and manmade, is a huge issue for government jurisdictions nationwide.
