Conduent CSR: Continued commitment, continued momentum

Earning EcoVadis bronze medal for the second consecutive year 

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) continues to be a cornerstone of our company’s culture in 2024, shaping how we operate and how we impact the world around us.  

Continuing our commitment 
Since we embarked on our CSR journey in 2019, we’ve expanded our focus across the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) pillars and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) where we think Conduent can have the most impact. Here are just a few of our accomplishments this past year:    

  • Solutions with impact: Conduent’s solutions have a meaningful impact on millions of lives every day.  Last year alone we disbursed ~$100B in government program payments to support millions of recipients, managed 800M healthcare-related claims, processed more than 4.5B tolling transactions and managed 2.3B complex customer service interactions. 
  • Diversity and inclusion: We’ve been recognized by Newsweek as a Top 100 Global Most Loved Workplace and Forbes as America’s Best Employer for Diversity four years in a row. Our Employee Impact Group participation also doubled year over year, with more of our global team members getting involved and making a difference all over the world.    
  • Environmental responsibility: Through continued efforts in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, we have achieved a 52% reduction in Scope 2 emissions from our baseline year, achieving our initial target. And, we have committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), setting even bolder goals for climate impact.

EcoVadis bronze medal achievement 
Most recently, for the second year in a row, we have earned the EcoVadis bronze medal for sustainability performance. The EcoVadis assessment covers 21 criteria across four key themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.  

Conduent’s score increased six points this year, placing us in the top 28% of companies rated by EcoVadis in our industry. This ranking reflects our focus on strong environmental and supplier management practices, ethical business conduct and just ensuring Conduent is an overall great place to work.  
 
Client-centered sustainability: Focusing on what matters 
Our clients count on us to deliver solutions and services for them and the millions of people who they serve every day.  That includes customers, members, consumers, employees, residents, citizens and travelers who count on our solutions and services for critical life moments.  The following are a few examples: 

  • Distributing needed government program benefits including SNAP, UI, WIC and TANF to millions of recipients in 37 states, while reducing fraud
  • Helping to support 7 million children with the delivery of child support payments
  • Assisting the delivery of packages with time sensitive and potentially lifesaving contents
  • Helping millions of employees better understand and engage with their benefits plans
  • Preventing or recovering millions of dollars in erroneous payments
  • Helping millions of people get to their destination via public transit or toll roads, while reducing emissions
  • Assisting patients to gain access to expensive drug therapies
  • Providing technical, sales and general support to over 6 million consumers per day

In all these scenarios, it’s about delivering solutions that impact millions of lives every day, 365 days a year… but it’s also about delivering those solutions in the right way, with strong corporate social responsibility.  It’s not only the right thing to do for Conduent but also the right thing to do for our clients and their end users who put their trust in us.

This recognition from EcoVadis shows that we’re serious about sustainable operations and can help clients meet their own sustainability targets while building stronger, more transparent partnerships.

Our CSR journey in 2024 reflects our steadfast commitment to responsible business practices. From achieving significant sustainability goals to earning industry-leading recognitions like the EcoVadis bronze medal, we are dedicated to continuous improvement in every aspect of our operations.

About the Author

Tracy leads the centralized Marketing, Communications and Revenue / Sales Operations functions for Conduent. In this role, Tracy oversees Revenue and Sales Operations, responsible for sales process design, quota and territory planning, sales training and onboarding, sales enablement, reporting and analytics, as well as Commercial proposal development. In addition, Tracy is responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing and communications strategy to build Conduent brand awareness globally, position Conduent for consideration and accelerate the sales cycle. The global marketing team develops account-based and offering marketing, demand generation, digital marketing, thought leadership, paid media, brand, events, and country marketing. She also leads ESG reporting and drives accountability for ESG initiatives across Conduent while also assuming direct responsibility for the Conduent Foundation, which promotes and supports associate volunteerism.
