Conduent Ranked One of the LGBTQ+ Best Places to Work in Mexico
As a member of the Conduent senior leadership team and a member of the LGBTQ community, I embrace the opportunities I have to influence and encourage diverse inclusion and empowerment. I am both energized and impressed by the celebration of diversity in all its forms throughout the organization. I am also thrilled to be able to share some exciting news.
The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, an organization that works to promote fairness in everyday treatment of LGBTQ+ people, has listed Conduent as one of the LGBTQ+ Best Places to Work in Mexico for 2022 through its HRC Equidad MX program.
The HRC Equidad MX program ranking is the output of an annual survey that assesses LGBTQ+ inclusion at the corporate level in Mexico.
The criteria used to evaluate participating employers are based on those used in the analogous United States survey, called the Corporate Equality Index. Since 2002, the Corporate Equality Index has been the principal reference in the United States for requirements that an employer must meet to be considered LGBTQ+ inclusive in the United States.
What are the criteria for the ranking?
Inclusion in this ranking reflects that Conduent is committed to LGBTQ+ labor inclusion, measured in various areas including:
- Policies of nondiscrimination/equity of employment opportunity
- LGBTQ + organizational commitment
- Public commitment
What does this mean for Conduent and its associates?
This ranking is meaningful for Conduent leadership and all associates for several important reasons. At the simplest level, it reflects the Conduent core value: “Be open and inclusive.”
At Conduent, we know diverse perspectives contribute to better decisions and outcomes for our associates, clients, and communities. We strive to make Conduent a great place to work for all associates, every day. A critical facet of building a great place to work is maintaining a safe and inclusive environment. Moreover, for me, work is more rewarding, fulfilling, and fun when I learn from and interact with people of different backgrounds. But most of all, being open and inclusive is the right thing to do.
This ranking honors that core value of openness and inclusivity and demonstrates the commitment of all our associates to putting that core value into action. We do what we say, and we say what we do; it’s that simple.
For anyone working at Conduent or considering a career at Conduent, you can be assured that being and expressing your true self in a positive and respectful way will be encouraged, valued, and celebrated.
Where do we go from here?
We are looking forward to the release of the United States version of HRC’s equality index. Making Conduent a great place work for everyone is a continuing and evolving mission, just as life and the world around us has changed and will continue to change. But with a foundation of our culture of inclusion and respect, I am confident we will continue to deliver on that commitment.
We are seeing signs of progress. In our 2021 associate survey, nearly three-quarters of our associates agreed or strongly agreed with the statement: “I feel like I really belong at Conduent.”
It’s my hope we can achieve more milestones like LGBTQ+ Best Places to Work in Mexico and ultimately ensure all associates feel like they belong.
What makes us different makes us stronger. Our unique perspectives and personalities help us better solve client problems, operate more efficiently, and make a positive impact on our workplace and our communities.
