Child Support Leaders Gather for NCSEA Leadership Symposium

Every year, August brings not only Child Support Awareness Month but also the NCSEA Leadership Symposium, one of the most important events of the year for child support industry professionals. As NCSEA’s Platinum Corporate Partner, Conduent sends many of our child support experts to participate in this annual event in the interest of furthering the child support conversation. We look forward to it all year long!

This year our team gathered with present, emerging and future child support leaders in Pittsburgh, PA. Some highlights of our experiences in The Steel City included:

  • The presentation of an Honorary NCSEA Lifetime Membership to Scott Cade, who heads up our child support business unit. The award recognizes Scott’s extensive contributions to the field of child support during his career, both during his years with Conduent and as a key child support leader in government, including five years as the IV-D Director in New York State. His service on many committees and his work in developing NCSEA U were also recognized. Congratulations, Scott!
  • Alex Camacho’s presentation on mountaintop leadership, given in the fast-paced Pecha Kucha presentation format, received a warm reception from the crowd and great reviews afterward.
  • A systems modernization roundtable led by Hal Carl was so popular we ran out of chairs! State participants shared their concerns, suggestions and best practices, as well as learning about the benefits of a re-platforming strategy to minimize the costs and risks of modernization. Hal recently shared further thoughts on modernization in a blogpost on Insights for Government Agencies.

“We appreciated Conduent’s participation in our annual Leadership Symposium,” said Ann Marie Ruskin, executive director of NCSEA. “As our sole Platinum Corporate Partner, they dedicated substantial resources, including the time and insight of their subject matter experts, to advancing the national child support conversation.”
