Utah Treasury Unclaimed Property

After a successful implementation of the Conduent® UPS2000 advanced claims management system in 2008, the Utah State Treasury faced a further challenge.

Finding the rightful owners of unclaimed property—ranging from stocks, bonds, checks and dividends—is a time-consuming and ever-increasing responsibility for state treasury departments. While Conduent’s UPS2000 provided a secure solution for Utah’s claims going forward from its implementation, Utah still had a post-implementation backlog of paper records dating back to 1959 to deal with.

Converting those 595,000 paper records—in a variety of sizes and formats—required the right imaging equipment with document management software, subject matter expertise and the ability to form a unique and powerful partnership.

Working together, the Utah State Treasury and Conduent implemented effective imaging solutions through a content management system, allowing a roomful of aging documents to be scanned and indexed quickly and securely in a high-tech, high-touch round-the-clock operation.
