Achieving a Modern Child Support Vision in South Carolina

South Carolina’s Department of Social Services (DSS) recently achieved a major milestone – developing and deploying three complex statewide systems at the same time.

The newly automated systems include a federally certified child support enforcement system, a State Disbursement Unit (SDU), and a modern family court system, which were all designed to better serve children and families who depend on the state’s child support services program.

The child support initiative relied heavily on state and county leaders working closely with Conduent to transform child support operations, and bring the state into federal regulatory compliance.
