Leveling Up at the NCSEA Leadership Symposium 2022

August not only brings Child Support Awareness Month, but the annual National Child Support Enforcement Association (NCSEA) Leadership Symposium. I was happy to attend this year’s event in Charlotte, North Carolina, along with other Conduent subject matter experts. It was a pleasure both to see familiar faces and make the acquaintance of some new emerging leaders.

Conduent is proud to support NCSEA as a Corporate Platinum Partner, a commitment we’ve made every year since the program began in 2018. At the Leadership Symposium, we had lots of great conversations at our booth in the exhibit hall, discussing ways to help improve service to children and families. We always enjoy the chance to engage in person with fellow members of the child support community, and it’s amazing how much learning and leadership NCSEA can pack into a few short days.

Here are a couple of the conference’s many highlights:

  • Contributing to the important conversation on equity, diversity and inclusion in the child support program, the workshop “How Can Data Level Up Equity in Your Program” combined new and familiar voices. Walt Frye, Conduent’s Global Head of D&I and Corporate Responsibility, presented alongside Erin Frisch, Michigan Child Support Director, and our VP of Child Support Solutions, Kim Newsom Bridges, to urge child support leaders to engage with these issues in three ways: with our heads, our hearts, and our feet.
  • In keeping with the conference theme of “Level-Up: Transforming Tomorrow’s Leaders,” our own Robbie Endris spoke on the topic of “Level Up Leadership: Transforming Your Leadership Path in Child Support.” Sharing her own personal experiences from her days in the Louisiana Department of Social Services, Robbie demonstrated the power and impact that individual interactions can have on a person’s life and career journey. The audience was rapt.

For the more than 500 attendees at this year’s event, many other workshops, plenaries, dialogues and discussions made the effort to get together in person worthwhile. Though our time together always seems short, those few days in Charlotte will fuel conversations for the rest of the year and beyond.

The fall will remain a busy time for child support events, with Conduent representatives attending several important state and regional child support conferences in the next few months, including WICSEC’s Annual Training Conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which starts on November 6. Hope to have more great conversations there. And of course you can always reach out to us to discuss how we can help you better serve children and families. Click here to get in touch.
