Conduent and Worldline partner to make traveler journeys easier in the Paris region
Helping travelers get from point A to B easier each day is one of the many goals of Conduent Transportation, by delivering our unique breadth of solutions and services. We saw this come to life in a recent announcement from Île-de-France Mobilités, the organization that designs, organizes and finances transport for everyone in the Ile-de-France region of France that includes Paris. Now, just ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, travelers in the Paris region can experience seamless transportation using a digital Navigo card stored in their Apple Wallet – no physical card needed. Customers can just tap their iPhone or Apple Watch to ride the metro, train, bus and more. This is the result of a long-running partnership with Conduent and Worldline, and we are proud to help make traveler journeys simpler in Île-de-France, especially before such a big event. Here are some details of how this works:
Seamless mobility for Paris travelers
Through the convenience of modern technology, travelers can now add a digital Navigo card to their Apple Wallet, eliminating the need to visit ticket vending machines or reload cards at retail locations. Passes, including t+, t+ reduced price, OrlyBus, RoissyBus tickets and Navigo Day passes, can be purchased directly from the Île-de-France Mobilités iOS app or selected passes in Apple Wallet. Travelers can see transit information for the Paris metro, RER, tramway and RATP buses in Apple Maps tied to their Navigo card.
Tap and ride with better security
With Express Mode enabled, travelers can hold their iPhone or Apple Watch near a reader to pass without even unlocking the device. If the device needs charging, power reserves allow users to continue using it for transit. Navigo card information is encrypted and stored in the Secure Element chip.
Already available on Android, the announcement of digital Navigo cards on iPhones marks a significant step towards enhancing the public transit experience. We are proud of our partnership with Worldline and to be able to help get travelers to where they’re going safer and more conveniently through a blend of technology and modern mobility solutions.
