Celebrating the impact of those serving child support

Why the holidays are a time to recognize the quiet heroes in child support services

Every year for decades, I’ve had hundreds of conversations and led countless projects with leaders and servants across every aspect of the child support industry from coast to coast. I know that our collective work is the product of a deeper calling to serve families. I also know how challenging it is for those in our field to answer this calling.

This holiday season is once again moving along at its usual fast pace. Family gatherings and holiday parties that began at Thanksgiving will continue a “hard press” until New Year’s Day. Throughout this “most wonderful time of the year,” we hear words and phrases about gratitude, gift-giving, gathering, families, friends and resolutions. All of these make for a busy but joyous holiday season filled with expectations for good things both now and into the new year.

Conduent’s Child Support Solutions (CSS) team members have similar goals and expectations as we work together to assist states, counties and countries in the important work of serving children and families. The child support program does not take a holiday. Child support services are even more important to many at this time of year. Our work in payment services is critical to meeting the daily needs of families, so we strive to perform at the highest level of accuracy and at the fastest rate of speed, while maintaining the best in payment security.

Our solutions go far beyond payment processing. We place a high priority on other aspects of our business, such as Child Support Systems, secure payment cards, ExpertPay, proactive notification, business intelligence and analytics, document management and other services to support child support programs.

While we have no helpful elves, we are happy to stay busy, and we love to serve some of the best customers we could hope for. Those who work in the child support program have a sense of purpose and a clear mission. It is true that they are guided by law and policy, and our 30 years of experience have proven to us that the work they do is much more than a job. We all seek to provide the highest level of service possible. Serving children and families is worthy work.

Our Conduent team believes that being chosen to work alongside states, counties and countries is better than any gift under a tree. We value the opportunity to serve the child support community with professionalism and integrity. With each passing year, we are proud to help them celebrate their progress and their accomplishments as they do their best for children.

Looking to 2024, Conduent’s Child Support Solutions team is excited for the future. We enjoy holiday celebrations with our families and friends, but we enjoy our work, too. We look forward to developing and offering fresh ideas, the best technology, and improved solutions.
